Alex returns for his third season with Heat Wave in his new role as Assistant Director. Alex began working with Heat Wave in 2018 as a visual technician, before joining the admin staff as the member coordinator in 2019. Alex marched trumpet for two seasons with the Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps (’10, ’11), one year with the UCF Marching Knights, and four years at Rockledge High School.
In his free time, Alex is an active adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America at both the local and national levels, after earning the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. Alex has served the BSA in a wide range of positions including District Vice-Chair, Program Chair, OA Chapter Adviser, and Lodge Committee Adviser, where he has always been tasked with developing youth leadership skills and ensuring the scouting program is delivered to youth across the central Florida area. Additionally, Alex serves on the training staff at national and other regional events, teaching a wide range of topics from specific program elements to general leadership courses.
Alex is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and currently works for Jacobs Technology at Kennedy Space Center. He lives with his cat, Goose, where he has many leather-bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany.
