Taylor is a percussionist, freelance composer and arranger, and pilot based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Taylor took an interest in music from a young age, and his passion was ignited as soon as he joined band in middle school. He excelled as a marching snare drummer, becoming the section leader at Lake Nona High School his junior and senior year. A friend told him about Heat Wave Drum and Bugle Corps while on a trip in Chicago, and he immediately learned the audition packet, being placed on tenor drums for the inaugural year in 2015, also serving as a drumline co-captain. Taylor returned to Heat Wave in 2016, marching as center snare and drumline co-captain. He took a passion in playing an integral leadership role and establishing drum corps in Florida.
Taylor elected to discontinue marching after 2016 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. He is a member of the pep-band, which volunteers their time at numerous athletic events. His father and uncle are Airline Pilots – his inspiration. His mother (a dedicated former Heat Wave volunteer) is his motivation, and his sister (an engineering student) reminds him daily he’ll never be as smart as she.
Taylor resides in Daytona Beach, Florida, and enjoys flying, traveling, Thai food, and of course, playing drums. He is eager to serve a role on the board of directors to help Heat Wave reach their full potential in any way he can.
